Bryan 'Dr' Watson started Djing at the end of the acid house scene in 1992,
after attending the now ledgendary Universe, Eclipse and Raindance parties
he discovered the burgeoning Jungle Techno scene where he was influenced by Djs such as Grooverider Top Buzz and Randall.
This love of the music steered Bryan into Djing and he started putting on his own Jungle parties in Swindon under the name of Intervention. At these parties the music was dark and hard and guest DJs like Dj Clarky from Black Market in London were regular guests.
However by the mid 90's Bryan branched out from Jungle and moved into more
jazzy vibes and a resident Dj spot at Bar Cuba with cohort Ian Shufflin in Swindon followed, these nights were a mix of Jazz latin and soul and were
aclaimed in Swindon as a cool night.
From this Bryan was offered a residency at De la Funk, a new night starting at the Brunel Rooms Nightclub in the town which was a good night with an open minded music policy which allowed Bryan the opportunity to preach his love of Latin music to an eager crowd. Now resident at Soda nightclub with friend and Dj partner Ian Shufflin they groove the beat bar with a mix that joins the dots from Funk and Latin to Jazz via Soulful house and US Garage.
These nights at Swindons premier club attract all the best people and all the best DJs and Bryan has played alongside Norman Jay and Danny Rampling there at a night that continues to go from strength to strength. Bryan says that his sound can be split between Summer and Winter styles where his summer tip relies more on latin and nu jazz grooves and his winter style tends to go that bit harder touching on US garage and House.
The mix supplied here is a mix of these styles starting lighter and
progressing onto harder soulful grooves.
