We were at Herbal once again to see the man like Equinox. Over a few beers we got some words with the DJ/Producer.
What got you into music?
I've been surrounded by music all my life. my family was a heavy influence. So I've always been into music.
How long have you been making music?
Mmmm about 10-11 years
How would you describe your style of music?
Emotional in every way
When you start a tune - how do you start it - what triggers a tune off in your head?
Well I just muck around on the synths twisting up some sounds then Ill end up getting a vibe from the sound which triggers off a tune in my head e.g break to use bass pattens etc.
What makes a good tune?
Everyone will have the own opinion to this question but for me its all about vibe If the tune makes me move then I'm feeling it. If its a mellow tune or a angry tune If the tune can bring out a certain emotion in me then to me that's a good tune If its a nice crisp mix or a dirty mix.. the musicality is what you feel more not the quality. Its not the quality you dance to.I think a lot of people concentrate more on the mix than the actual vibe of the track these days.
What do you enjoy most, DJing or producing?
I think I love doing both... Its nice to see a crowd rocking to what you are playing asking for rewinds and its very nice to see people feeling the track you have just made.
to me nothing beats that feeling.
How does it feel to hear you own tune played out in a club?
its always nice to hear your piece you have worked on played on a proper club system.The 1st thing I do always is listen to how its sounds.
What projects are you currently working on?
At the moment I'm working on a few things ranging from all the different styles of music i'm influenced from e.g hip hop, deep house, detroit techno,Jazz. . there's 4 broken beat/ deep house pieces.
And there's a few twist up breakage business going on at the mo which I haven't finished yet. But it all depends on the mood im in when I'm in the studio.
What other artists are you working with currently?
I'm working with Senses (science) on a downtempo thing at the mo and in the near future will be working with the Breakage (the badman).

What labels have you had releases on?
Brain records,kickin Records(Hard leaders complation),Hard kicking toonz,Groove Chronicles,Dat pressure records and Inperspective Records. Lables in the near future (hopefully) Warm communications ,Soul integration and Reinforced.
What has been the highlight for you so far?
My main highlight was Back in 93 when i done a P.A with bizzyb and D lux at innersense at lazerdrome that was the biggest rush i had so far. Now its all about technicallity thats my main highlight now .I hear some serious beats down there... I haven't been to a night where everyone is just going mad and having fun vibesing like that for years and also inperspective records foward thinking science!!!.
What dj gigs to you have?
I thinks theres a few dates coming up but there not comfirmed yet .. I don't really play out much as I concentrate on making beats more..i don't mind playing out though.
How do you get your music out there?
By sending cd's to Djs & lables I respect
What's the future for you?
It seems like drum and bass on on a up once again and there will be change..
Its good that there is more different syles of drum and bass Beware of Breakage!!!!! . as for me personally I just wanna keep on pushing out the more beat driven side of drum and bass it wasn't called drum and bass for nothing.
